Cool! I think Bill Clinton went on a similar diet when he became vegan. No oil and nuts will certainly reduce cholesterol and is heart healthy.

So sorry about the setback but it wasn’t within your control. I noticed no avocado or nuts in your diet. Are they just too many calories?

I am following Dr Esselstyn's Reverse heart disease diet and he says no oil at all and that includes Avocado and nuts. I get plenty of Omega 3s from other sources. So far, it hasn't been a problem because I don't like much oil.

I am impressed with how well you managed this setback with the power outage. That is enough to have set many people back for a long time. Keep up the good work and attitude. I agree that you needen't spend time trying to convince your wife. Doing by example is best and once she sees how it works for you she may follow.

I am struggling with health myself and i'm fifteen years older than you. I have always been an emotional eater so I go back and forth. I have been all vegan at times and then I regress back to old habits. I usually give in to dairy as I love cheeses; meat is easier for me to give up.

This diet Jason is following might strike some as “radical” but it no doubt radically improve the health of anyone who adopts it. I will contemplate what such a diet might mean for me on a daily or weekly basis.
