Sounds like this really could be a wise move, Jason! I hope you document more of this because eating healthy in a sustainable way is such a struggle for soooooo many people.
It’s difficult when a partner does not do the change with you but I support you. And I realize how hard it is to lose the weight especially when everyone is telling you to exercise and you are in pain when you do. Can you do walking while sitting in a chair? And check out walk at home on you tube. 10 minutes a day might just help
I second Jim Woods comments! Also, I find that if you document what you’re doing it makes it so much easier to stay on track & it’s motivating to see your progress. I would say don’t try to go all vegan at once. Taper off.
I am going into this slowly, and I want to make this part of my life without jumping to something new in a week like I normally do. I need to ease into it and make it a habit> My first task will be to find a way to eat plant-based in the Philippines where negetable selections are limited. That is my first hurdle.
Perfect. Building new habits is hard. I’m sure if you take it at a steady & manageable pace you’ll achieve your goals. Best of luck & looking forward to hearing about how it’s going.
Powers to you, Jason. I was a non-dairy vegetarian (meaning I still ate eggs) and recently gave up eggs, so I guess I'm vegan. I also love the taste of meat. For weight I use Noom but that's not the answer for everybody. For the meat cravings, I use the processed vegetable protein Like Beyond Burgers, Beyond Sausage. That company recently started with Beyond Steak tips which, with onions, pepper, and plant-based cheese, fries up into a really nice tasting cheese steak sub or sandwich. There are many vegans who disdain such highly processed food, but it works for me. Lots of plant based meat, fish, and chicken alternatives. Feel free to email me with questions or or moral support.
Thank you Wry. There are so many options for me, but I am somewhat limited what I can get here in the Philippines> I am going to have to find a way around that for the next two months and then find a way to live in China living a plant-based life. I will be teaching English there so that is where the jouney really kicks into high gear!

Thanks, Jim. I was struggling with finding my purpose and I think I've found it. If I want a long life, I better get busy!

I think once I get my diet under control, it will fix the uric acid imbalance in my body and my gout with be lessened. I just need to take it slow!
