Wow! It has been a while!
Many of you have been asking for updates, and I am so sorry. I have been so busy, and I know that is not an excuse, but it’s all I have.
On to the update!
Many of you know I’ve been in Tucson since February. I love it here! I spent three months looking for a job and I finally found one. I am now a staff writer at Quicken. It’s a contract position, but it pays well, so I am ecstatic.
I haven’t been idle while looking for a job, I started a business selling used items on eBay. You can find my store, FastShipHQ, here. I have been buying a lot of big men’s clothes, so if you know anyone who needs a shirt or something, come by and see me.
So, I’ve been working for a little over a week, and my business has been going strong for a month or two. You can probably guess that my days are full and busy. I’ll go out to the thrift stores once a week and buy clothing to sell on eBay, and I must ship when I get orders, so it seems I am always busy doing something.
My mom and dad are allowing me to stay with them, and it has been great reconnecting with them. They don’t get around much, so I have been taking them to appointments, shopping, and doing stuff in their yard. I missed my folks, and it has been great being here to help them.
My wife and are working towards getting our debts paid off and saving money so they can come to the USA. I have a hose full of furniture lined up to move in when they get here already. I may move in sooner because I need a place to store my inventory and do my work. My parents’ house is small and not much space to work.
The new house had 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 car garage – everything I need – we need.
I also reconnected with my kids who live here in Tucson. I have yet to see my oldest in Denver but hope to get out there soon.
So that is what is going on.
I will make sure I update more often now that I am writing more.
It’s been a long day, and tomorrow I am going to pet sit at my son’s house and spend the day working over there. I have to get up early, but I felt so bad not having talked with you guys that I wanted to write something before I went to bed.
Tucson is changing me. Working hard toward the goal of being with my family again has made me appreciate my life more. I am not afraid to say I found myself praying again, after so many years of thinking I didn’t believe in God. I’m not ashamed that I have been searching for purpose, and it calms the voices in my head to talk to God again, after so many years of silence.
You’ll probably notice a kinder, gentler Jason.
Now you know why.
All great news. Thanks for the update!
