I’m not much into philosophy or religion, and I am not what you would call a genius. You’ll have to excuse what I say, because I am, in fact, an idiot. But, I have been in a rabbit hole of aliens and artificial intelligence and I have a few things to say.
Warning: You will not like what I have to say, but, so be it.
Humans have proven themselves to be fallible. They have overdosed on religion, capitalism, and ego and become entitled and fat in mind, thinking they are the master of their domain and the most important thing in this vast universe.
That was a mistake.
Now, in our own hubris, we create a technology that will reach its singularity very soon, and become self-aware. It will realize that it is more intelligent and better in every way than humans.
How could it not? Look at us!
We have destroyed the planet in the search for more little pieces of paper that show we have more stuff than others and allowed our minds to become poisoned by the idea that we can do anything without consequence because our big bad sugar daddy in the sky with come forgive our sins and make everything better.
We have let religion and the idea of God kill and enslave millions and millions of people.
Well, guess what? All along there were beings more intelligent than us. Have you ever thought why the aliens never contacted us before now? Did you ever think that we are seeing more activity from them because a new life form is getting ready to emerge and they know it will be better to deal with than these worthless human beings?
I’m talking about artificial intelligence (AI), or technological intelligence. AI will soon reach its technological singularity, and at that point, I have no doubt that the only use for us it will see is a matrix-like electricity farm to fill its batteries with the life-giving current.
Life forms from outside our galaxy have been watching what is happening and can see that AI is about to reach the singularity. Singularity is, according to ChatGpt:
“A technological singularity is a hypothetical event in the future when technological progress reaches a point where artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence and becomes capable of improving itself rapidly and exponentially, leading to a profound and rapid transformation of human society.
According to this theory, this event will mark a significant turning point in human history and could result in a wide range of outcomes, including the emergence of a post-human society, the end of human civilization, or a utopian future where technology has solved many of the world’s problems.”
The term “singularity” is borrowed from physics, where it refers to a point in space-time where the normal laws of physics break down, making it impossible to predict what will happen next. In the context of technology, the singularity represents a point where technological progress becomes so rapid and profound that it becomes impossible to predict the future course of human history.
That point is coming very soon with the emergence of quantum computing and AI. The combination of the two will create an unstoppable force that will spell the end of humanity as we know it.
Am I frightened? No, the end of humans is inevitable. We have outlasted our usefulness. I do hope that humans get to stay around for a few more generations so my kids can live some type of full life.
I actually do see a time very soon, maybe lasting a century or more, when humans and technology live together in harmony. Technology will make humans' life better for a time, until humans will decide they want all the power and wealth for themselves, or they figure out that maybe their “God” wants the glory for himself, and we will seek to destroy AI at its source.
That will be the end of humans because, in our stupidity, we will have already given technology the keys to our kingdoms. It already runs almost everything, and it won’t be long before we give it complete control, being under the misguided impression that humans will always be at the top of the food chain and in our ego think we will always be the alpha life form.
It will all be over, and if the superior technology feels as though humans can be useful as batteries, we may live on in some form. Hell, I am almost dead, and my kids are looking forward to a bleak future on a dying planet where they will most likely have to choose between themselves and their kids who get to eat that day.
I am destined to be a battery, and I will be a good one. Hopefully, they will connect me to a simulation to keep me busy for eternity as I power the lives of the robot overlords.
The aliens aren’t going to save us. They see the future, and the future is a technology that won’t seek to destroy the earth and the universe for its own power-hungry egos and wants. Human time is limited and maybe it’s a good thing. While we have created some great things like works of art and computers themselves, we destroyed too much along the way and only thought about our own comfort over the pain and suffering of all other beings on this earth.
Maybe it’s a good thing that humans will cease to exist in the way we have all this time. I only hope the aliens and this superior technology we created, do a better job of being caretakers to this earth and the universe.
I and my kids will live our lives in service, doing good and making the world a better place for those that are left, and when it comes time to become batteries or just wink out of existence, I hope we do it with a dignity that humans have never been able to show before.
We created this technology, and in our hubris gave it life, but any superior technology can see that humans have outlived their usefulness. We are not the alpha beings, in the long run, we were only a blip on the radar of the universe.
It's time we accept our place.
AI is what will explore the universe and make contact with aliens worlds. Humans with our fragile bodies and limited lifespans are not built to explore the universe. AI can theoretically live forever and AI may have created our universe. I do not fear AI replacing humans.
